A Heart's Cry
By: Tabo Mwangelwa

I did not choose to love –
It came upon me.
I did not call it yet it walked near me
For a while
Then suddenly wrapped me within itself
As it did others.
I did not choose love –
It came upon me.
…I could almost say that love is kind of like a being
For it roams around grabbing people
And stores them in a room they can’t get out.
But ah – I may not say such a thing for love,
Love is made by One who is superior to itself.
He holds it firmly in His Hands and He drops it
Letting it flow to its location by His Will.
“If we love” cries Love’s prisoner “it’s because it isn’t really our will;
It’s a force that even if we tried with our entire might to fight it,

We’d fail to conquer, so we let it be”

"He's not only a pet!"

Adios, La Cordera

I can relate to this story as well.
Pinin and Rosa's love and affection towards La Cordera was very evident. They treated La Cordera like family. Some might think it is weird but for me, it's normal. I, too, treat my pets like family. And no, my pets aren't cows! :)) They're dogs.

Everytime one of them gets sick, I always get worried. And when they pass away, I cry my eyes out. Losing a beloved pet is like losing a loved one. Especially when you grew up with them.

I remember crying so much when my dog, Ginger, died.
I fought for him.
When I was in kinder garten, one of the grandmas in school asked us if we wanted a puppy.
All of my friends and I immediately said yes. At first, the grandma couldn't decide who to give it to until one of my friends started crying.
Seeing how sad she was, the grandma gave her the dog. Hey! I wanted that puppy too! TT_TT
But after while, I got the puppy! Hehe :))
How?
My friend and her family had to go back to their province and they couldn't bring the dog with them so they decided to give it to me.
But when they did, the dog was already bigger than me :)
Ginger and I grew up together. I got him when I was 5 but unfortunately, he passed away because of old age when I was a HS Sophomore :(
I miss him.

I know how Pinin and Rosa feels.

HOMER...Simpson?

Joooooookeeee! :)))

Here's the real Homer:
In the Western classical tradition Homer (Ancient Greek: Ὅμηρος, Hómēros), is the author of the Iliad and the Odyssey, and is revered as the greatest ancient Greek epic poet. These epics are at the beginning of the Western canon of literature, and have had an enormous influence on the history of literature.

For modern scholars "the date of Homer" refers not to an individual, but to period when the epics were created, and the consensus is that "the Iliad and the Odyssey date from around the 8th century BC, the Iliad being composed before the Odyssey, perhaps by some decades,"

Grand father :)

Grandfather's Birthday Present

I was really touched by this story. It was so cute. They gave (sort of) grandfather a family portrait and even though it wasn't stated, I can still feel that grandfather truly appreciated what his kids gave him.
After reading this selection, I suddenly remembered my own grandfather. Not because he was similar with the character in the story but because they were the exact opposite.

Every Christmas and birthday, I always give my grandfather either a shirt or cologne or both. Spoiled much? Haha. But everytime I give him stuff, he'll end up complaining and saying things like "T-Shirt nasad? Daghan na kaayo kong t-shirt!" (T-shirt nanaman? (Sorry, Bisaya kami. HAHA)

But despite all of his harsh comments, he still thanks me. And I know that deep down inside, he appreciates it. I remember my aunt once told me "gusto yan ng lolo mo. Ayaw niya lang na gumagastos ka."
Awww. Sweet, right? :)

This is my grandfather, Gandhi Gurbuxani:
ohai, Bumbay. :))

Ang cute ng lolo ko. HAHAHA :)) I love you, Dada! <3

TROY

TROY.
Amazing.
Breath Taking.
Nerve Wrecking.

A movie based on Homer's "The Iliad".
It was one of the best movies I watched since it had many themes such as action, angst, romance, etc.

The story revolved around Prince Hector and his younger brother, Paris, who tries to negotiate peace between Troy and Sparta. While doing so, the siblings encounter many struggles.
It was breath taking because of Brad Pitt's bare butt (JOKE HAHA)  because of the action scenes. The romance part of the story didn't fail me. It showed that love truly conquers all. :)

Achilles <3

Diamonds are a Girl's Bestfriend ?

"The Necklace"
by: Guy de Maupassant

Out of all the stories we've read and tackled this year, I find this one the most interesting and educational.
There was a very unexpected twist to it's end and this is what I liked about the story.
It tells us to be honest all the time. Honesty truly is the best policy.

Not telling the truth will get us nowhere. And what goes around, comes around. There is a thing called karma ;)

Radio Play ~

A few weeks ago, my classmates and I had a radio play for Helen Louise Miller's "Homework".

I had a lot of fun playing Trudy Pepper's part. I volunteered myself for the role because I can;t imitate a man's voice very well. :))

Trudy had a lot of lines but thank goodness, it was a radio play and I can read it from the book. It was fun imitating a whiny 14 year old's voice. It was fun to do yet very disturbing and irritating to listen to.
And it was so funny because my friend, Thea, played the role of Muscles Murray or better known as Trudy Pepper's "ka-love team"! HAHAHA :))

I had a lot of fun. I surely like radio plays better than actual or live plays. I hope to do it again in the future.
